The Power of Accessories

The Power of Accessories

In the day of social media and constant availability of You to the public, one can’t help but feel the pressure of unrealistic expectations of self. This can come in many shapes and forms, but I recently had a conversation with my cousin and she expressed to me how she does not like to post on Instagram all the time because it feeling of needed to not become “outfit repetitive”. Damn, isn’t that something, our overly accessibility of being view online is not preventing people to post their reality. I get it. Because I blog, I know how often I try not to post outfits on repeat, but is that realistic, HECK NO!. I wear the same outfit, or remix items more often than not, because guess what, I’ve paid for that. Although I do a lot of shopping and giving away clothing articles that I become tired of, I am sure I know where my overcompensation of clothing comes from. My days of being poor, duh, that obvious. What I don’t’ want to do is give women unrealistic expectations of being plus size and fashionable.

So I decided with this post I was going to take one entire outfit, dig some old items out the crate, and show you all the power of accessories. As far as the outfit, less accessories, the ribbed white bodysuit was found at Forever21, similar, and these cute linen vertical striped cropped pants were found at Target, and are super comfortable and light go up to a size 26!

I wanted to show you all that you can pull looks that are easily different and the same.

So for the first look, I added a straw fedora, found here, in the men’s section (a big headed woman’s go to for hats, lol). I also included an old favorite statement necklace I found in a hospital shop with muted blues and purple tones, as BCBG statement bracelet, old from Macy’s, and a tan bag from Justfab.com that is older as well. These cute little mules are pretty new and a Nordstrom Rack steal at $50, by  Melrose and Market.

For the second look I got rid of all the accessories for a quick revamp. This time I added a pastel peach and mint green necklace, not sure where I purchased this one but I think it was Nordstrom Rack, an old peach bangle which originally came in a set, and mint green statement pumps I found at Ross Dress for Less years ago. I added my old faithful blazer vest, and BAM, I’ve got a go to work look.

And its just that simple, realistic, and just as cute as a brand new head to toe look. I hope you all enjoyed these looks and take a look in your closets and play around with the power of accessories.

Peace and Posistivity!

Tiff

Plus Size Spring Fashion 2017-livelifecurvy.com

Hey all. I didn’t want to pass up an opportunity to show you guys this Pretty Tough look I put together for a picnic in the park date with my hubby. I adore this cute pleated skirt from WHO WHAT WEAR, currently sold out but similar here. It was the pretty element of this look *hints the title*. I paired it with a simple black tank top, tucked in and my DIY jean jacket, and some cute little lace-up flats for comfort. I also added an old black and gold statement necklace I picked up thrifting a few years back (I love thrifting!!), wide gold hoops, and a cream colored textured clutch bag, similar here  This jacket was once my go-to jean jacket that got so worn that the elbows of the jacket got natural holes in them, so I ran with it! A few slits and pulls, and a couple washes later I have me now favorite distressed denim jacket. I thinking that I will start a DIY series. I am constantly coming up with little projects around the house, and in my closet so maybe I will start to show you all my adventures with creating!

Hope you enjoyed this short post, and let me know if you would like to see me do some DIY videos.

Love, peace and live life curvy!

Balling on a Budget: Comfort and Sass

Balling on a Budget: Comfort and Sass

Hey all! I hope life finds all of you with smiles on your face and money in your pockets, lol! This is a quick Balling on a Budget look I threw on to head out on some errand runs and a night of grabbing a bite to eat with my mom and auntie. I can not get enough of the track pants trend there are all so comfy and chic. They come in so many varieties and can be dressed both up, down and in-between. I would consider this a in between-er. It was easy enough to wear while maneuvering thru the grocery store isles and cute enough to pair with a like leather jacket for a quick bite to ear.

This look is almost entirely from my guilt pleasure retailer, Tar-Jay, or Target if you want to get technical. I swear I try to avoid there clothing and shoes every time I am there shopping for the house, but somehow it drift quietly away from the cleansers, paper towels, and body soap area, and right on over to the Juniors’, Misses, and plus department :). The trousers are in a XXL and can be found, here. This cute little satin coral flouncy bodysuit was a must buy, being that it was such a gorgeous color with so many future outfits in mind, here. I paired it with a silver drop chain necklace from Forever21.com, and some old faux pearls, similar here. The silver clutch is one of me clearance favorites I found at HM for five bucks( so nice, I brought it twice! I got the gold one as well), similar here. My gunmetal mules are my new everyday fave shoe that I found at Off Sak’s Fifth Avenue. I absolutely love that store for shoe shopping. They are French Connection and the most expensive(but still a great deal) item in this look!

So let’s let the number talk now:

Track pants:    $ 22.99

Satin Bodysuit:  $ 17.99

Drop Necklace:    $ 5.90

Faux Pearls:     $ 2.90

Silver Woven Clutch:   $ 5.00

Gunmetal Grey Oxford Mules: $49.99

Total:       $104.77

Yasss, all this sass for a little cash, don’t you just love it!

Peace and blessings, loves,

Tiffany Chavon

Humble

Humble

Hey all! I have been a little bit out of it lately when it comes to blogging. So much going on in life, both good and not so good, that I just haven’t been in the moment to chat, or even get all dolled up. But this will change because I have been so blessed and have so many great opportunity. I am so humbled by it all and cannot wait to share the details :).

With saying all that my fashion as of late has been lazy, and of  course my favorite lazy piece is the kimono. They always make nothing look like something, lol. This particular Sunday, I through on a white tank from Target, here, and my favorite fitting skinnies from here, with this super whimsical printed kimono from Forever 21’s CA Love line I found it in store and unfortunetly it is not online, similar here. The wedges are my comfy shoes and are so old but I can wear them all day, I was almost certain I blogged them before, but I guess not. They are by Ralph Lauren and I think I found them at T.J. Maxx, similar here. This is perfect for my Sunday because I am usually going from church, to grocery shopping, and taking care of what ever else needs to be handled. The handbag is from Shoedazzle.com, and old classic, and the choker can be found at chokdaccessories.com.

I do missed blogging, time to get back to my regularly scheduled programming 🙂

Peace and blessings!

The tank is chiffon and I have had it for a while, similar here, and the jeans are by Kut from the Kloth, I love there jeans and you can find them, here, however I always find them at T.J. Maxx, for have the price, LOVE IT!! You all know I love a good deal. The only run up to a size 16, but they have amazing stretch in them, and surprise surprise , theses are a 14. These shoes I wore previous on this blog post, and are from Target.com.

Not only that, but I have some big business things in store, and a move out of Sunny California that I am planning for and super excited about. Kiyonna Plus Size Review

Kiyonna Plus Size Review

Hi all!. I discovered This love olive green dress by Kiyonna Plus Size through my GwinnieBee subscription. I must say the fit of this dress was AMAZING! It made me feel ultra feminine and sexy, all while still very comfy. It was perfect for the night out with the hubby. I cannot tell you all how much I am loving my GwinnieBee account. You know how we will buy an dress for an event, date or party and never wear it again, this is why GwinnieBee is so perfect. I know myself and I would not want to a dress like this one to more than one event. So I was able to wear it, return it and receive a new item from GB. Pretty awesome right? And then there are the items that you actually want to keep, and with those items you have the option to buy.

I paired this dress with a comfortable black suede pump with gold detail by Calvin Klein, similar here, and a very old chandler earring with an olive stone and Aztec feel. We love to go out for dinner and drinks and I love to throw on a dress and I was comfortable in this one. I hope you like this as much as I do. Check out Kiyonna.com for more cute and quality dresses like this one.

Love, Peace, and Curves,

Tiffany

Hey all! Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! And cheers to me and my belated 33rd birthday!! Yes it was my birthday last week and I was so all over the place that I almost cancelled the whole deal. I opted for a small dinner at local mexican resturant Javier’s Cantina in Newport Beach. I’ve been there many times so I knew that the food would be yummy the ambiance would be exactly what  I needed and the cocktails are to die for!

With all of the chaos and confusion of last minute cancellation of my original B-Day party I decided not to wear my party dress on that evening, but I had to bring to to you all in happy belated birthday to myself. I found this cute little number on a whim Christmas shopping at Charlotte Russe. I have been shopping there since I can remember shopping for myself. They constantly have great trends, and good deals and semi- extended sizes in store with plus sizes online. I have added some current discount links below check them out and see what jewels you can find.

This dress however is a straight size XL, this is why you never underestimate the straight size retailers. Sometimes you can get lucky. This dress is a total gem. I love the rich tones of the sequins and the ombre affect. It was the perfect way to add a little pink with a winter twist, here is a similar dress because unfortunately it was only in-store. I paired this look with a simple stud earring, and my black suede platform pumps by Calvin Klein which happened to be a gift, similar here.

The New Year is here guys! Get excited!! What are you plans? Do you do resolutions or are you just a go with the flow type person?? Lets talk about it in the comments below.

Balling on a Budget- Holiday Party in Pink

Balling on a Budget- Holiday Party in Pink

Hey loves!! The holiday’s are literally around the corner get EXCITED!!! Time for a new Balling on a Budget- Holiday Party Pink look. I put together this little number with a dress I picked up from HM.com, for just $24.99, yes that is it!. I originally brought this for a masquerade party, and I did where it then, but who said you can’t rock it again 🙂 I loved this knee length mocked turtleneck dress because it was thin and simple but with a slight sheen to the polyester. I wanted to not do the traditional red or green for a our company luncheon, so I decided to go pink! And these shoes… ughhh.. I have only wore them 2 other times, smh.  I know that this is going to kill you guys, but I picked out these BCBG suede and  sequined shoes as one of my birthday gifts over three years ago, I found them here, but then noticed they are sold out 🙁 . These bangles came in a set purchased at my local Macy’s store and in true form, were a random find while I was skewering thru the clearance accessories, and they were $5.99. The pink lipstick is another Wet N’ Wild fav, for just $2. BALLIN!!, what you know about looking cute for under $100 bucks,  lol.

I love the holiday season, but I hate my procrastination. I am so busy at work that by the time I get off cook clean, get choker orders ready for morning drop offs, I am so over going out to deal with the holiday traffic. So I looks like I will be on some late night, hustle and bustle these next three nights before Christmas, but it will be worth it to surprise all my boo’s with their goodies 🙂

Happy holiday chaotic shopping to you, keep it cute and keep it frugal boo!!

XOXO Tiffany Chavon

Get In To It

Hey loves. There is no rhyme or reason for this particular outfit post. Just a little something that I picked up on a shopping for cleaning supplies at my good ‘ole favorite store Tar’Jay. I saw this striped ribbed body-con dress the weekend after Thanksgiving when Target was offering an additional 30% and like a lot of other unnecessary things it went in the cart and came home with me that day 🙂 I thought. It was adorable and could think of at least 3 different ways of wearing it (that is normally the make or break number for me), so I brought it. It is still available, here. Theses boots were worn in my previous balling on a budget post, and the cat eye sunnies I have had for years, similar pair here. I hope you guys get into these photos, though.

On another note, how about this holiday shopping traffic, it is straight madness! I live near a huge shopping center and I love the convince, but this traffic, uhhhh. Not to mention as much as I want to be done with Christmas shopping I haven’t even rubbed, let alone, scratched the surface of our little list, sign. But I am excited for the holiday! Family time is always my favorite.

Peace and Blessing Boo’s

XOXO, Tiffany Chavon

It’s finally starting to cool down so I am so excited for some sweater weather. With the holidays around the corner I can honestly say that I more on my Balling on a budget than ever so I brought back the series. This past weekend the wind was on chill and I had some holiday errands to run so I got a chance to finally bring out some warm clothes. I actually picked everything I had on during the Target Black Friday weekend, because all clothing were 30% off with an additional 15% off. YASSSS!! You can’t get more bargain fashionista than that.

This sweater I just could not get over its color and its feel. I loved how cozy it felt when I tried it on, and not itchy because there is no wool in it, thank God. I love the look of wool but I cannot tolerate wool feel. This plain white tank you can always find on sale for $9 bucks at Target, I like to stock up on my tanks for days when I just want to throw something on and go. You can never have too many white tanks when your me because I am constantly, as my hubby would say, “feeding my girls” lol. The jeans found here, are by Mossimo, and normally just under $30 and are great because the have good stretch. The booties were on clearance for $18 dollars and are just so cute I couldn’t believe they were on clearance in the store. The booties however on regular price online so you may want to take a look in your local Target and see what you may find in store.  I think I have been sleeping on Target lately, and this Black Friday sale really woke me up! The choker which is so cute is cream and has a small stone applique cased in gold, can be found here for just $7.00, and matches my $2.00 BBS earrings.  My lipstick is an older one by Fergie for WetNWild in the color Spotlight Red, and is discontinued, similar on is here for just $2.

Below I have calculate the totals for this weeks Balling on a Budget- Cali and Chill addition with the current prices online. Good thing is there is $25% off shoes on target.com and you get $10 off if you spend over $50 online.

Sweater        $29.99

Booties         $28.49

Tank              $9.00

Jeans            $27.99

Hoops           $2.00

Choker          $7.oo

Lipstick         $2.00

Discount     -$10.00

Grand Total    $96.47

Boom!! Under a hundred bucks for a head to toe Balling on a Budget- Cali and Chill, very simple yet chic, around town shopping day look.

I hope you guys enjoyed this look have a blessed day!

Oh yeah and tell me, what are you looking forward to the most and the least this Christmas shopping season? Comment below!

Peace and Blessings,

Happy and Bright

Happy and Bright

Its been so hard for me to get my life back in order, sigh… I have just moved and although I am overly grateful for the blessing man, oh, man does it come along with some major work. Now that I have gotten back on track I thought I come back to my baby/blog. This cute little happy and bright dress can be found here.  I love the bright colors, even though its fall/winter they are so joyful. You can’t deny that occasionally  bright pretty colors can definitely change your mood.

I paired this with a simple moto-jacket that I previously wore, here. My boots are about a season old and by Steve Madden, they are actually similar ones available here, and they have a leather front and a material back which stretches and is great for thicker calves. This cute little lime watch and chic and edgy sunglasses were both gifted.

Happy and Bright

Happy and Bright

20161123045154_img_2255I am in such a great mood lately. I will just say you get what you put out into the world. My life used to be so full of pessimistic, and doubt. I won’t say that I still do not and moments, but I will say that I have gotten a lot better of being optimistic. If you put out positivity in the world your bound to receive it in return. I’ve literally been hit with blessings, on blessings, on blessings. Oh, yeah and welcome back to work after the long Thanksgiving holiday weekend *sarcasm intended*, but bright side to this is, your blessed with a job so take that in stride, lol. Until next week. XOXO.

Stay happy and bright!

Happy Wednesday Loves! I wore this look with no intentions on blogging it I was just keeping it simple on the Lord’s day, and touch on a simple kind of love. This dress is one of the most flattering dressed types for just about all body types, the A-Line flare dress. They hug the waist and flare out at the hips making for the ultimate feminine flirt silhouette. This dress is super affordable and can be found here, for under $30, and goes up to a 3X in size. The material is a poly- blend  with plenty of stretch. I love a classic black blazer. This one has plenty of pocket details and I found it one here, from Target for under $30 as well. These adorable little flats are from Ross dress for Less for just $16 bucks, don’t sleep on Ross they have some cool finds sometimes. My red leather handbag is older, similar here.  The three cross choker can be found here, and is called the Kelsie and can be order for just $15.

On another note, I never want to forget how blessed that I am and you shouldn’t either. All the the luxuries that we are given are blessings and shouldn’t be taken for granted, and I know exactly who they come from and why they come from him. Me and God have this simple kind of love and I know and love him for it. Good, bad and/or ugly he always comes through blessing my little life with more than I need or desire. All he asked for me is a simple kind of love. And what is most amazing about Gods love for me is even when I mess up, he forgives and loves me. Isn’t that amazing.

Well here is to hoping that you feel as good, refreshed and pumped up this week as I do 🙂

Peace and blessings,

Adjustments-Making Your Plus Size Summer Clothes Fall Friendly

Adjustments-Making Your Plus Size Summer Clothes Fall Friendly

Sometimes we have can just say out with the old and in with the new. Today’s post I will revisiting some of my spring/summer favorites and re-purposing them to make them fall friendly. I know it is not always easy to just say new season lets go shopping so let just work on making adjustments by making your r plus size summer clothes fall friendly. I have 4 tips to revamping your summer closet to tweak it for the fall.

  1. PUT IT ALL OUT THERE. Take all of your favorites out or closet or drawer. Organize them into categories, i.e. tops, skirts, pants, jeans, etc. This will help you know what you have and determine what you may need to add in order accommodate the climate changes.

  1. DO SOME RESEARCH. Put in a little work. Open some magazines for trends that you like. Watch some of you favorite old movies inspiration, or look at your favorite actor or actress or any other entertainment personality for inspiration, as well. Colors, and accessories go a long way in changing it up a bit

  1.  MAKE A LIST. This list does not have to be long and consist of everything under the sun that you can think of, but just a few things can go far. Look at the items you have and what you need to add to them in order to turn them in to the looks that you would like to have for the fall. This can be jackets, scarves, hats, boots, or booties. You’d be surprise what changing shoes can do to an outfit.

  1. HAVE FUN WITH IT. Sometimes we are naturally overly critical of ourselves and what we wear. Remember to put things on that speak to you! You want to always be yourself in what ever it is that you combine in a outfit look. Its cool to like someone else’s look but make sure to do you at the same time. If you feel like you like a look but its to bold or not bold enough flip it! Do you boo 🙂

This outfit is a little old with a little new. I’ve worn this cropped top before, here, and I decided to pair it with my new favorite faux leather pants, cute alternatives here. I added this new Melissa McCarthy duster, here, that came in my Gwynnie Bee subscription this month but it is now on sale for just $47.77. For a little pop of color I added my all time favorite hat that was gifted to me on my birthday, similar here, and my old red pumps, seen on the blog before a couple times and still available here. An inexpensive similar pair can be found here.  I also paid it with a custom faux snakeskin ombre black to white choker, found here.

I hope these 4 tips were helpful 🙂

If have yet to mention that about a month ago I had the blessing of being chosen as one of the five CowCow Plus Bae Ambassador’s, which I initially was not going to enter out of fear, but look at God. I was not the top winner, but I now feel full of a sense of pride that someone looked at me and saw what I believe in the confidence that I am building in myself, and hoping to help other young ladies to build from within. With that I was able to chose from several of CowCows custom prints some of my favorite items, style them and give honest review on there products. This will be the first of many looks where I will include a CowCow item and I am excite to say I just found a new company to love! so how CowCow.com works is pretty awesome, you can literally upload a textile print and they will make it into the item of your choice. They offer everything from notebooks, to phone cases, to both men and women’s wear.

There was no way that when I saw this skirt I was not going to order it! I am a black woman and I pride myself in knowing and loving as much about my roots so why not rep them in my fashion, too. The kente print of course drew it to me and I already knew I was going to love it in a pencil skirt because they are my favorite. I paired it with a cropped top, similar here, and the classic moto jacket. I wore red pumps, similar found here, and these funky hoop earrings from HM in store, similar.  I failed to mention you can shop by designer on this website, here is the designer of this print they have so many other very cute prints, and you can see how many styles they have already created.

On another note, I wore this look out to go and see the movie Birth of a Nation,  I had this whole descriptive review of the film, when I realize that if I discuss it now it would be a complete spoiler. I will say this, it is a must see by every man/woman of every race. It is gut wrenching in some of its scenes, but very necessary. My husband and I took by 12 year old brothers to see this movie, and it was a huge debate on whether it was “appropriate” for them to see it given its reviews of gory scenes. We agreed that it was needed and had a discussion with them so they where prepared. It opened up a lot of great conversation. There is so little conversation about slavery in school now that if We do not educate our children on why we should be proud of who we are and what we come from they will have no knowledge of it. I want to go in-depth about the  movie SO BAD, but I will save that for a few weeks from now, but I will say is GO SEE BIRTH OF A NATION.

Happy Monday!

Love, Peace and Live Life Curvy,

My Thoughts on GwynnieBee

My Thoughts on GwynnieBee

Fall is here!! and I cannot get over the warming  up of the color palette. It has to be my favorite part of the seasons changing. I live in SoCal we can never full rid ourselves of the heat, but we can pretend we do with our wardrobe changes. I recently had the pleasure of attending “Curvy Cocktails” hosted by Kristen Thompson of TrendyCurvy.com, Candice Kelly, plus size model extraordinaire, and Mz. Gossip Girl, journalist/host/the first plus sized women I seen on television, Nina Parker. At the event I shuffled my two drinks in my hands, self down to learn that I won a free subscription to Gwynniee Bee. I thought how cool is this. I had already view their site and wonder if I wanted to commit to a another subscription in my life, I have so many already its ridiculous. So how perfect was it that I go to try it out at no cost! Let me first say I love the concept, you have the option of pick one to three items at at time. You wear them, or if you do not like send them back, and if you do like them pay a purchase price and keep the item(s).

GwynnieBee Review 1

GwynnieBee

My thoughts on Gwynnie Bee are this, on a positive note, it is completely awesome to be able to order items online, wear them a few times and return them for new items because you can never bee bored with such an open wardrobe. They have some many cute colorful items and a variety of prints and styles, and there is little to no commitment to each item. This is great because I like trends and just a fast as some trends come, they also go. With that said, for me its so far so good. I received my first package of three items, of which two of the three items I loved, and one I have sent back. Easy-peasy 🙂

GwynnieBee Review 3

This kimono/duster is one of them and I adore it. I am loving the combination of brights with maroon, and gray. The fit perfect and the outfit possibilities are endless. I can definitely see this in my wardrobe for the long haul, so I am thinking about making this one a purchase. This kimono is by Citron, found here, and it comes in sizes Medium thru 3XL. I paired it with a jeans from my favorite place, Macy’s from there INC brand. Similar tank can be found here. I have owned these maroon wedges heeled ankle boots for years they are comfy and a favorite of mine so I can’t seemed to get rid of them, similar. The gray handbag was a gift from my husband, similar.

Empowered

Empowered

You know the saying I am my brothers keeper, well I have adopted and adjusted that to I Am My Sister’s Keeper after my recent experience. This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending a women’s empowerment pop-up photo shoot, and I must say it was so needed. I am honestly going to say that I was very hesitant on attending it originally out of fear of not knowing anyone, but myself, along with my sister decide we would go. This event is was the introduction to many workshops that are now being held in the Los Angeles, among many other states. The focus of this event was not just the photo shoot but empower, inspire and spark a positive mind state. I met some many beautiful women who allowed there truths to be revealed in what was deemed a ‘free space’ of as a judgement free release time.

I can get over the stories, both the battles and great accomplishments that have came from each individual woman. It was enlightening to not just know, but feel the pain, and the strength of all of these beautiful women from physically different women, but vulnerably and emotionally the same in some cases. Some times as women we fear relationships with other women, but I am glad that every last one of those that were so positive and uplifting and just cool as hell. It was so freeing and so fun. I there was tears and cheers, thanks to the personalized Queen Sangria’s from lovely maddivaconcierge.com.

Outfit Details! Lets not forget what I love!! Fashion 🙂 Being that there was going to be a photo shoot as well, we were told to wear all black. I wore this the top I wore can be found here.  Now let me tell you about these faux leather pants boo! They are from City Chic, and are SO comfy and the fit is amazing. They are stretch and they did not fall half as much as other jeans for curvy girls that I have purchased in the past. These shoes can be found in a past blog post, and here are some that are similar in larger size shoes specialty online boutique Smashshoes.com.

Summer is officially coming close to an end, **awwww**. This year I can’t tell if I am excited about fall or going to miss the summer’s warm nights. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the fall! Fabrics become more textured, boots turn into my favorite accessory, and the faux furs come out at night, lol. But what about the loss of one of my favorite crisp clean and some times obnoxious colors, white. No white after labor day is what they say, but do you follow that fashion rule? I cannot stand to be told what to wear and when or how to wear it, so for me that is a definite no go for me.

I order this cold shoulder skater dress online at Torrid.com, sold out but similar here, and it was quickly a summer hit in my mind. It is so easy, breezy, and comfy. I love how it flow and I feel so completed free in it. I think the chevron texture give it a little added flair.  So, it goes without being said that I transition it into the fall. It originally came with a thin camel colored belt but I decided to switch it up a bit and remove it. I add this adorable hat was purchased from the men’s department at Forever 21, and it is the perfect fit for my not so petite head :), similar here. The choker is one of my own designs, coming soon to chokdaccessories.com. The booties are from last season, but I found some that are similar here.

How do you feel about wearing white after labor day? Would you do it and say screw it, or is it a definite no, no. I am almost sure I wont be cutting white off any time soon, and I am sure that my white after labor day looks will fall into a winter white, post in the future.

I hope you all enjoyed your extra day off, I know it did!. I binged watched the Netflix original show “Stranger Things” and I am hoping they come thru with a second season, because we love some good Sci-Fi in my household 🙂

Thank for stopping by!!

Stay peaceful, Stay positive, and live your life, Boo!!

A Long Time Coming

20160812063526_IMG_9344

Sometimes it take me forever to post a new item or outfit on here. This amazingly sexy casual plus size bodysuit is one. I am a sucker for a great fitting plus size bodysuit, remember this one, to die for. The only problem, its been so long since I purchased it that it is unfortunately not even available on the website,. I love a good pair of “hole-y”(distressed) jeans but I am also good for busting the holes out, lol, so I repurchased these bad boys here. I accessorized this outfit with these super cute shoes that previously appeared on this post, and my old faithful olive jacket that I have owned for at least two years and give me the perfect grungy upgrade to anything I throw it on with, similar.

My big chain hoop earring I purchased a local So Cal boutique, but I was able to find them here for you. I am a crazy clearance rack shopper so the story behind this belt is that I found it on a dress that was $3 on dress that was way to big for me, but I purchased solely for the belt, hehehe. With this current California heat wave we are experiencing, I swear I am so looking forward to fall hunny!!! Its been crazy lately.

Normally, it is bearable where I live because it is not to far from the beach, a couple of days ago it reached 102 degrees, ugh, so Fall its been a long time coming and I cannot wait to feel your presence again, lol. So I wore this little look to for a movie, and school shopping date. Why the heck did we combine those two activities? Because we have to maximize time in my household. With a husband, a teenager, and a set of pre-teen twins, all boys/men, someone ALWAYS needs something and this weekend it happened to be getting the majority of the school shopping  this done. And still be able to do something to make my only off days enjoyable.  Any-who Boo’s, I am rambling, and venting so…let me stop.

I am super excited to announce that I have decided to curate a new segment on my blog called “Ballin on a Budget”.  In these blogs I will post only outfit combinations that will cost a total of $100.00 or less with items brought from some of my favorite places to shop. My goal is to give ladies ideas of how to be plus size look amazing, and spend pennies for an entire look. This first look was inspired by this adorable wrap dress I purchase in store, here. I can’t even believe that it only cost me $19.90, can you. I mean the it actually a pretty thick cotton blend that I was shocked did not fall to shreds once I washed it but it is still in great condition. The shoes were purchase from my old shoedazzle.com account, which is we all know that none of there shoes exceed, $39.99, super cute alternative. The cream and gold statement necklace that I adore, just $19.90, along with the gold bracelet was purchased a in store at Forever 21,now this is not the exact same bracelet but the cost is the same, $7.90. I think that this look can easily be pulled off at a gala, dinner party, jazz club, or date night.

Now lets total this up:

Dress:                                      $19.90

Shoes:                                     $39.99

Necklace:                                $19.90

Bracelet:                                  $7.90

*BONUS* Lipstick:              $1.99

TOTAL:                                 $89.68

(Also, if you want me to get technical and add tax its around 11% were I live, which would be around $9.87, still under budget, 🙂  )

WINNING!!! I really hope that I can do this Ballin on a Budget Series on here at leas twice a month. Let me know what you think and if you’d like to see more “Ballin on a Budget” looks.

Thanks for stopping by!!

Love, Peace, and Curves Boo!!!

Live LIFE!! I do not consider myself an advocate because I do not have a huge following, nor do I put together events to help women with focused on self-love (yet), however, am do consider myself a woman on a body positive, life positive journey that I must say I am quite proud of. Like many women it is extremely hard to not extra critical of oneself and outer appearance. If any woman is even a little bit like myself, you have been happy, angry, happy again, sad, and even cried yourself to sleep at night about your body image. You’ve dieted, exercised, and damn near(if not fully) starved yourself to try an obtain your “perfect” body. You may have compared yourself to others, critiqued others, compared yourself to others, and just been overly crucial of the way  your body looks. You’ve even at times prevented yourself form enjoying the world, because of what the world may say (let that one sink in, lol). Its sad, but its normal for a woman to be so screwed up, that they do not know how to handle loving and embracing their body as it is. For most of us, women, what we see one the television is not what we see in our mirrors, or better yet in the shower daily.  When I think about it, it damn near has me in tears (yes, I am the overly sensitive crybaby type at times, lol). For years I have never worn my thighs out. They have one of the many parts of my body that I was insecure about. Insecurity about thighs on women are common but mine was not just the normal cellulite complex, it was also my varicose and spider veins. I have had them since I can remember, but more specifically around the eighth grade. Do you know what this did to my life! Completely restricted it. I literally never wore short-shorts until about 20 years old, and would not be caught dead in a swimsuit without board shorts, or a long wrap, crazy right, When I finally purchased a pair I rarely wore them, it may have happened, once or twice that summer, with some heavy coercing from my BFF. It may sound foolish to most, now it even sound foolish to me! You know how they say with age comes wisdom, there also comes that give no fucks attitude. I think that comes from the loss of time, and the realization that much of your time past and what you have left you have to make enjoyable and memorable, and beautiful! And guess what its easy! You just got to live for YOU! Stop hiding, and bottling yourself in a comfort zone because of what society says does not matter. You know that saying “What they eat don’t make you shit.” Live by it, because it is awesome, and guess what it goes both ways, so when you think about those that you fear judgement from you can still apply it 🙂

With all that being said, these pictures were not supposed to be blog post, but I decided I was going to live life, being happy, confident, and comfortable in my skin on Sunday and post them 🙂  The tunic I recently purchased from H&M in-store, similar here. My white folded jeans shorts can be found, here, for just $ now, SUPER STEAL!! My statement necklace and sunglasses, you have already seen on my previous post, here, but can be purchased on Forever21.com, similar sunglasses here (they are no longer on the website but I still see them in the store), and necklace here. I picked this scarf up on my trip to the Orange County Fair, blog post on that adventure coming soon!

Live Life Curvy, and really LIVE!!!

Just let it flow. There is nothing like a full length chiffon maxi dress to make you feel ultra feminine. I received this dress from Perfectly Priscilla plus size boutique, and I absolutely can not get over how beautiful I feel in this dress, it is just so dainty and lady-like. I adore everything about this dress. The colors are muted tones but the print is bold. The top of the dress is not lined so it it sheer down the crossover top and throughout the long sleeves, but from the waist line down to about knee length it is line with a nude color lining. The sleeves are can take this dress right into your Fall/winter wardrobe which makes it completely worth the buy! Best of all, this super luxurious long sleeved maxi has a waist!! If you do not know anything about dresses, one detail you should always keep in mind is the waist on the dress. Dresses with a built in waist line that falls into full skirts complement women of all sizes  and do great wonders for the feminine silhouette. I went for a non-traditional look with these leather wedge heels that I have had for ever, here are some similar to those. My rose-gold necklace was a gift from my boss’ trip to China last summer, and I think it is just gorgeous.

I really am enjoying this dress from PerfectlyPriscilla.com. There are some many cute, fun, flirty, and feminine options in their inventory. They are a plus size online boutique and their sizes rang from This dress was very true to size, though I must say I was a little nervous about fitting the top of the dress, I was presently surprised to see that there was a side zipper making for easy entry. I also spotted this gorgeous cream top that I must have. so I will definitely be back for more. Check out PerfectlyPriscilla.com. You will not be disappointed in the variety and cute options available!

Happy Saturday!

I love the color black. It always has and always will be one of my favorite colors. But in the summer it is frowned upon to be walking around in all black like a ninja, because its too HOT!! Hence me putting this on in the evening. I can’t help but being reminded of that moment in Waiting to Exhale when she called him out for his “Leather wearing in the summa-time”, lol. Trust I could be called out for wearing leather in the summertime, as well! Black jeans are classic, though I can never keep a pair longer than a couple months because I can not stand to see them fading. These mid rise black jeans, purchased here, create a sexy long leg look as they should. I was going for the “remind him what he got look”, aka sexy wife look, lol. This bodysuit screams sexy and is made perfect for us plus size girls the fit is great, it is sold out in black but here is the exact same one in blush pink(I may just order this one as well). It hugs the hips perfectly with out being uncomfortably in my butt. It accentuates all the positives in my figure and I must say I am happy with this purchase and I am sure it will be on repeat a lot this fall being that I can easily throw on a tank with this and add a bomber jacket. Or I could see it paired with a circle skirt and some thigh high boots. I am so ready for this bodysuit in the fall.  These shoes are so can be seen anywhere, because of the styles popularity. I found mine at Shoedazzle.com, months ago and I must say they are a favorite of mine, but here are some similar at a new shoe company I discovered at the Golden Confidence Pool Party.

Monday thru Friday, from early A.M, to mid afternoon I am at work, waiting to be off work. With my busy lifestyle I literally have to be ready for whatever when I get off work. I need clothing that can appropriately take me from the office, to the heat, to the store, to the kitchen, and to basketball practice without having to worry about a slip and fall, etc. In order to combat the heat I must say I love a good loose fitting dress. Don’t get me wrong I love a tight fitting dress as well, but they are not very work appropriate all the time. So when I saw this cute little number at Old Navy, and under $35, I had to pick it up. Not only is it a plus size friendly dress, but and it runs from sizes XS to XXL and comes in tall or petite. It is easy to wear with a light blazer, or a cute distressed jean jacket, or no jacket at all when off work.  I went with my absolute favorite pair of leopard flats that I have had for probably like 4 years, lol (and my husband wants to throw them away but that will be over my dead body). These are the actual shoes, and you can see why I adore them, but they are so old that I cannot purchase a new pair, but I have found and alternative, here, they are not my favorites I may just have to scoop these up.  My statement necklace was adorably picked up by my husband, here, he be trying y’all 🙂 My multi -colored clutch purse is another oldie, but goodie purchased from aldoshoes.com. They have great accessories and shoes and they are currently running their end of the season sale, so I will definitely be checking out the deals.

Thanks for stopping by,

Peace & Blessing,  Tiffany Chavon

Golden Confidence Pool Party 2016- L.A. Edition

Oh My God…Becky!!! This past Saturday I had the complete pleasure of attending the Golden Confidence Pool Party L.A Edition and I am still in utter awe of it all. You can only fathom that much confidence was in this space! I was so hesitant to go, I literally waited until the last day to purchase my ticket. I could honestly say my social anxiety was at an all time high. I remember last year when Essie threw the 1st annual Golden Confidence Pool party thinking, wow that is an sick idea and looks so fun. I knew when she announced it I wanted to go, but talked myself out of it early on because I “wasn’t ready”. I have to say without my husband and sister (who wanted to go with me for moral support but couldn’t make it), coerced me into going and I am beyond glad I did!

When I arrived I was more than amazed at the happy beautiful smiling faces all around me. I will admit I did feel a little me nervous for the first few minutes, but I got over that quickly. I walked around just checking out everything that was going on. The music was bumping, there was a taco man grilling away, and there were plus size beauties everywhere that looked genuinely comfortable and happy in there own skin. I would call my self a pretty confident plus sized woman but hunny, these women gave me so much more life than I expected! There was just so much joy around me. There was not snotty-ness or noses turned up, everyone was just turning up!

I met so many beautiful women of different shapes, shades and sizes. I don’t believe I ever felt so internally comforted in my life. Though I was really shy and I didn’t know what to say to a lot of the O.G. bloggers that were there, like Tess Holliday, Ivory Jinelle, Dionna Humphrey and even Essie Golden, my people watching and mingling with the ladies I did get to know was enough for me. I did not personally meet and conversations with everyone, but I felt like I did! There was so positivity and confidence in the atmosphere I feel inspired and even more comfortable with myself then ever before. My blog is Live Life Curvy because I don’t want my size to limit me living my life as all the beautiful women in attendance obviously do not either. I love the plus size movement and I hope that it resonates to all the girls, young ladies and women around the world and continues forever it is not just a trend or fad. Which is what all us plus size bloggers are grinding for as well.

I must say that the girl Essie did an amazing job with her amazing concept and I wish her nothing but the best in all of her futures endeavors because she is not only beautiful lady but a smart cookie, because there is no doubt in my mind that this is going to turn her into a bigger deal then she probably has ever prayed for, I’m talking Mogul Talk, for real for real! {I am speaking into existence for you sis 🙂 } Oh yeah, and for those of you in the Miami, FL area, its going down for your ladies, too! Don’t miss out on the fun, here is the link to buy tickets.

Would I go to the Golden Confidence Pool Party L.A. again next year? HELL YES!! and every year after that until they tell me I am too old to go, which would never happen because I can tell that is not how Essie rolls.

Street Style- Paris Fashion Week 2015

Street Style- Paris Fashion Week 2015

So its Fashion week somewhere in the world… somewhere called PARIS. I love to see the runway looks that are forecasts for the upcoming season, but I would have to say my all-time favorite part of any fashion week, is the street style moments and photos. There is something so raw and real about the fashion lovers and their eclectic, eccentric ensembles that make my day. I find inspiration in others quirky style as well, and because it is person style it is always on trend J.  It is always so fun and uninhibited. Now days it is so easily to lose your fashion freedom based on how others may perceive you, or based on what others believe is trendy. But is like Ralph Lauren said, “Fashion comes from within you”, so do you honey! Check out my street style fav’s. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

That 70’s Vest

That 70’s Vest

I found this vest on a thrifting day out, one day about a year ago. I had an outfit all pick out for it in my mind at that time but I guess, I forgot what it was. I was cleaning out my closet, as I do every about every 6 months, and I was just about to add it to the trash bag when it hit me!

That’s so 1970’s. I immediately thought I need a bolero tie, lol. I have yet to look or find one, however, I did put this outfit together on a whim.

The light blue jean dress was purchase here (target) earlier this summer. I paired it with these burgundy platform faux suede boots, similar here, and large twisted gold hoops, here.

I added this navy blue croc inspired bag with a gold snap found at Forever 21 last year.
Hope you enjoy!!

Fall’s Almost Here!!

Fall’s Almost Here!!

Ahhhh, why do I get so excited when fall comes around…I don’t know… like I don’t live in Sunny Southern California… you know the say it never rains in Sou-thern Cal-a-fornia..While that may not be entirely true (but hell y’all see we in a drought! And it ain’t for no reason, lol), I love fall like,  loooovveee fall, appearance wise, its Cali’s only real season other than summer,  and here whenever its over 75 degrees it seems summer-ish. There is something about changing of the colors of the leaves on the trees that let us know it’s real. I can’t deny, right now I am loving a mock turtleneck and a light jacket or poncho, some Read More

FINALLY!!!

Finally, the most appropriate title for the very first blog post of the little girl from Long Beach, CA, turned Orange County working wife. For years I’ve contemplate creating a blog, about me, what I love most, how I come up with the things the things I do with my personal style and beauty, and just my life in general. So rock with me.. Roll with me… and go with me, as I grow, learn, and LIVE LIFE CURVY.

With love,

T. Chavon
